One of my favorite summertime treats is fresh peaches from the local
farmers market. Organic, Juicy & Delicious, it's a perfect
ingredient to most salads, desserts and our favorite...Cocktails! We're
taking on Bourbon this Happy Hour Friday,
Elijah Craig 12 year
to be exact, named for the Rev. Elijah Craig, the man who discovered
the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when he stored his wares in
barrels that had been charred in a fire.We're adding fresh peach, mint,
lemon and a touch of agave nectar to balance it all out. We're calling
it a Peach Smash, or
the P.S. for short, cause we're sexy like
that. It's a wonderful addition to summer, maybe even this weekend, as
the sun sets during those BBQ afternoons...
- The Peach Smash, a.k.a the P.S., a Fresh+Twist Original Cocktail
the P.S.
2 oz Elijah Craig 12 year Bourbon
1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1/4 Peach Liqueur / Schnapps
1/4 oz Agave Nectar
1 peach
4-5 sprigs of mint
In
a mixing glass, muddle 1/2 peach & a heavy pinch of mint. Add
Lemon, Agave, Peach Liqueur, and Bourbon. Add Ice and shake. Pour the
contents into a old fashioned glass, garnish with a mint sprig and
slices of peach. Drink & Enjoy.
