Travel Tuesday: Ace Hotel Downtown LA ...

I'm simply obsessed with  Commune design, there isn't a single project that doesn't blow me away. A few months ago I featured the amazing American Trade Hotel in Panama City and this time they've done it again with the Ace Hotel Downtown LA. Located in the historic United Artist Building which has a heavy Spanish Gothic influence, Commune design stripped down the interior of the building and discovered a "modernist, brutalist concrete structure". They recreated the hotel from there by mixing LA's mishmash Gothic style and the work of local LA modernists.The result is an eclectic hotel pulsating with an industrial, vintage and trendy vibe .... American Trade Hotel, Panama City ...

I'm a huge fan of L.A design firm Commune, I've featured some of their homes in my previous blogs. I was super excited to see their new project which is the American Trade Hotel in Panama City for the trendy Ace Hotel Group. The hotel feels relax, casual and reminiscent of a bygone era, the designer was trying to  achieve a look that felt like the hotel had been there forever ... Take a look. Images via
