Trending Thursday: Pastels for Spring ...

This is the perfect time to bring out the pastels ... with Easter round the corner these powdery hues are great for this time of year. The fashion runways also featured a lot of pastels for Spring 2014 ... my personal favorite is lilac like the outfit below by Prabal Gurung. The challenge I find in using pastels is that it can appear childlike, girly or unsophisticated even ... Below are a few images of what I feel are successful use of the colors. Images via Pinterest

Trend Alert: Color of the Year ...

The much awaited color of the year is Radiant Orchid somewhere between purple and pink … the color gets a love or hate reaction. Personally I think it’s a great color for accent pieces in interiors ... girlie for sure but there is an elegance and sophistication to it. It’s a color that needs to be intentional and bold, you need to own it, so make sure you love it before you dive in until then here are some images that might inspire you.

All things Grey ....

I'm really into Grey this week ... I was busy pinning images and I noticed the one common thing was that they all had something to do with the color "grey". I don't know if its the changing weather or just a shift in taste but I really dig it. Take a look at some of my pins ...

Leopard Print Trend for Fall !!!

Leopard is hot this fall, I cringe when I see this print on some people, it looks like the actual animal is coming at you. I feel this print should to be used very sparingly as it can go from classy to trashy very quickly. A little goes a long way - perhaps a pair of flats or a scarf or a throw pillow or an accent chair but really one has to exercise caution and restraint ... they are dangerous but sexy if done right:)

Here is my Leopard wishlist for fall - love the Marc Jacob scarf, it's fun and cool!

Kate Spade Lottie Leopard Pump $328.00
Betsy Johnson Leopard Strap Watch $105.00
AVF Acrylic Leopard Printed Tray $310.00
DVF 440 Leopard Print Clutch $265.00
Club Monaco Skinny Belt $45.50
Marc Jacob Scarf Blue $158.00
Storage Box Zara Home $16.90

Ideas for decorating with Leopard print - a dangerous and glamorously sexy look for your home.

Lately studs and spikes have been all the rave on runways ... interior design has followed suit by pushing the envelope with studding. Studding or "nail heads" as it is call in interior design is everywhere, it's not just being used for details but has become the design itself. Take a look ...
