Discover the wonders of Laos ...

Luang Prabang sits on the banks of the slow-moving Mekong River and is an amazing place to experience traditional Buddhist culture with its well preserved temples under the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The architecture is French colonial with traditional wooden houses surrounded by lush palm trees giving this town its unique charm. Positioned in the hills above Luang Prabang is La Résidence Phou Vao, an Orient Express property, offering beautiful mountain views of temples and shrines in the horizon across the infinity pool. The guests rooms are furnished with rosewood furniture, Laotian cotton upholstery and fragrant frangipani .... and I want to go there:) 

 

Nascar Champion's downtown Manhattan Apartment ...

Interior designer Shaun Henderson designs a Manhattan apartment for Nascar champion Jimmie Johnson. The designer was inspired by the sofa fabric by Loro Piana linen and uses it as a base for the palette. Most of the furniture is mid-century modern including the living room sofa, a classic chesterfield that I adore. The designer also uses a Hans Wegner Papa Bear armchair in the master bedroom which adds a sculptural element to the space ... Images via Elle Decor

Winter White ...

I'm glad that white is making a statement this fall across the runway ... didn't quite get what all the fuss was about not wearing white in the winter, it all comes down to texture and fabric.

In interiors nothing beats a beautifully executed winter white room that reminds us of the blanket of snow outside. Layering texture upon texture of white gives a warm fuzzy feeling, creating that coziness we all look for in the winter.

With interiors by Kelly Wearstler and a Philippe Starck-designed spa, the very stylish Viceroy Miami has all the glitz and glam you look for in a Miami hotel. It takes a good eye for detail to pull all these different elements together without turning into kitschy. Kelly Wearstler has a fearless appetite for over the top design without losing control and I'm a huge fan ..
