The Get-Away...

Let's get back to cocktails ...  And taking a bit of knowledge  and  inspiration from last week's  Infusion Ideas (The Porthole)  :  This week we infuse  Partida Reposado 100% Agave Tequila with Serrano Chili and Red Peppercorns!   Together it's a peppery spicy blend mixed with the sweetness of Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice and fresh organic Cilantro... It may be Spring but this has the heat of Summer!
This is the Get-Away...

Travel Tuesday: Selman Marrakech

The Moorish-style hotel which is located at the foot of the Atlas mountains includes five private Riads with their own heated pool, 56 rooms/suites, a 12,000 square foot spa and stables that house 16 thoroughbred Arabian Horses. Acclaimed designer Jacques Garcia who designed Hotel Costes (Paris), La Marmounia and the hipster Nomad Hotel in NYC, brings his luxurious exotic aesthetics to the Selman. Architectural details such as mosaics, high arches and columns are complemented by Garcia’s plush interiors and high-voltage palette of rose reds, ochres, lemon yellows and regal purples.

Inspiring Infusion!

This week we feature a cool product from Martin Kastner / Crucial Detail : The Porthole. Inspired by the image of a submarine porthole window from the film, "The Fabulous World of Jules Verne," the Porthole is a new approach to  infusing. Designed for the bar chefs at 'The Aviary,' a new bar concept by chef Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas in Chicago. The Porthole can be used to infuse cocktails, oils, teas, dressings or any other type of infusion. And it's stunning to look at!
