This is my idea of a 'broken in' home ... a home that looks effortless and makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. For this 19th century Hampton home, the designer chose to reuse original building materials to preserve the character of the existing farmhouse. The result is a bohemian-luxe retreat, that strikes a balance 'between practicality, funkiness, and chic.' Source & Images

Waterfront Penthouse in Cape Town ...
I was excited to find this stunning penthouse apartment located in Cape Town, one of my favorite cities in the world. This waterfront apartment takes its inspiration from natural elements like wood, copper, marble, woven loom and integrates it in this beautiful space. Love the custom hammered copper tiles in the master bedroom that not only adds texture but also reflect light ... take a look. Via Dwell

Unique Suspension Lights ...
Absolutely love these suspension lights I stumbled upon while pinning ... just when I thought I had seen it all in terms of lighting I came by these stunning pendants. Images via
The first one is the Botti and my absolute favorite - it embodies all the details of the wind instruments and takes us to a music concert.
The Brubeck fixture is a classic sculptural design with an extravagant shape that conveys refinement. It can be created in any shape and dimension perfect for a dining room or hotel lobby.
The Ike suspension is characterized by the rhythmic composition of its elements, reduced shapes, clean lines and lots of black.
The Hanna suspension is a magnificent pendant composed of five arms and three lampshades made in aluminum using an old technique called hand metal spinning.

Hostel Anyone??
I know what you're thinking ... think again the Generator Hostels located in Europe are changing the way folks think about hostels, they are more cutting edge, fashionable, hip and socially stimulating that ever before. Each hostel has its own unique style that reflects the local
spirit and culture of its host city whilst also maintaining a common aesthetic
with an emphasis on bold and exciting social spaces. This trend caters to a new kind of traveler, dubbed the ''flashpackers''
(ex-backpackers who are now older but still enjoy staying in hostels),
and business visitors who are looking for trendy and
socially stimulating accommodation options.

Going Global in Manhattan ...
Today we are touring the Manhattan home of Rebecca de Ravenel, the founder of the Goombay Bazaar, a traveling pop-up shop that sells one-of-a-kind wares from all over the world. Most of the furnishings in the apartment are vintage or passed on to Rebecca from her parents and friends. The 31 year old travels extensively, including recent trips to Turkey and India, on the
hunt for inspired items and she’s managed to find time to assemble a
magical place to call home.
